Welcome to my gallery
I am an artist living in Longridge, Lancashire. I sell my paintings through various galleries and exhibitions as well as producing private commissions for individuals and business.
I have been drawing and painting all my life, but my real passion for the art began when I studied photography and then art at A-level. Leaving sixth form with the art prize under my belt, I then continued my studies at the University of York where I completed an honours degree in Philosophy.
I was just painting as a hobby, when a local business man asked me to produce some original paintings for the walls of his new restaurant. The opening of 'Thyme' was a great success and since then my career as an artist has snowballed. I have produced many commissioned pieces for satisfied customers of the restaurant in the years since and have been approached by interested parties from all walks of life. My work has been bought by clients from all over Britain and further a-field, in Europe.
I use many different media in my painting. My favoured combination is acrylic on canvas, but much of my work also incorporates pastels, gouache, metal leaf and elements of collage. My inspiration comes from what I see around me in my everyday life. I love to travel, and can really appreciate the breathtaking scenery that Mother Nature provides. Living in such a beautiful part of the world, I am heavily influenced by my surroundings Images, shapes and colours from nature are frequently evident in my work.
Many of the paintings seen here have already been sold. However, if you see a design that you like, I can re-create it in any shape, size or colour.
I continue to take commissions from clients wanting unique, unusual and often personal paintings from the home or office. Having met the client in person to discuss their ideas and requirements, I present a series of preliminary sketches before agreeing with the client on the form or colour scheme of the proposed painting. The position where the final painting will hang is always taken into account so that the finished piece will blend effortlessly with its surroundings.
I am always working towards my next show and enjoy spending quality time in my new studio to work on my ideas and to explore possible inspiration for future pieces. I exhibit my work several times a year, so if you would like to be added to my mailing list for information on future events, please email me at the address below with your contact details.
I also offer a freelance graphic design service for print and can produce flyers, brochures, business stationary and much more at very reasonable prices. Please email me for more information on this service.
