In the Studio

In 2008, I was awarded a grant by Lancashire Rural Futures to move from my city centre box into a large custom built studio in my garden in Longridge. I now have a fantastic space to work in, enabling me to produce larger pieces and work long into the night when the family are asleep. Panels in the roof flood the studio with daylight, it is well insulated and I recycle the rain water from the roof, making the studio very environmentally friendly. In winter, it takes only a short while to warm up in the mornings and defrost my brush bucket, and in the summer I feel like the luckiest artist in the world!

I use the space not only to paint in, but to store collections of all sorts of random objects that I use as materials for other creations.
